Glasgow Irish Volleyball Club was first established in 1996. In its heyday, the club had 2 mens teams and one womens team. The Mens first team playing in the first Division. Being promoted from the Forth to First Division in successive seasons. Currently there is a Womans National Division II League Team.
In 2007, we changed our match venue to Brannock High School in Motherwell. We share this let with North Lanarkshire Volleyball Club.
In 2006, we moved our training venue to Hillpark Secondary School, southside of Glagsow. In association with the Glasgow City Council and the SVA a set of posts were purchased and installed at Hillpark. Glasgow Irish happily agreed to take over the coaching of the community club sessions already up and running in the school. These are free of charge and are held in the gym hall on Wednesday nights 5-6:30pm and are open to children from 9-14 yers old. The aim is that children will get an experience of volleyball and eventually become club members. Malcolm & Gil coach these sessions.
We are always on the lookout for new members, so please feel free to contact us on the link above if you fancy playing competitive volleyball.
